Tour overview

Abel Tasman National Park is world famous for its golden sand beaches, turquoise waters, completely unmodified estuaries, lush bush to the high tide mark and the excellent walking tracks.

Although an earlier start is necessary, Abel Tasman Kayak, Walk and Cruise is for those visitors who want to kayak, and walk this stunning coastline. Several options are available depending on time, fitness and level of exclusivity required and range from shared water taxis and group kayak guide through to private taxis and kayak guide.

Your host collects you from your accommodation and delivers you to the start of your Abel Tasman adventure and carry’s with him all the food and refreshments needed throughout the day. You will be introduced to the water taxi crew and kayak guide and briefed on the days chosen programme which may vary depending on weather and fitness considerations.

To cover the most diverse sea and landscapes the preferred option is walk  from Torrent Bay to Bark Bay through beautiful regenerating forest, alive with birds and past spectacular views of stunning colour, estuaries  and landforms At the conclusion of the mornings guided walk your host will provide you with a scrumptous lunch on a beautiful golden sand beach before a cruisy kayak into lagoons, over rock gardens, around islands, viewing New Zealand fur seals and perhaps dolphin, penguin and stingrays back to Anchorage to meet your water taxi to return to Kaiteriteri.

This added value, fully guided journey interprets the less obvious features such as the early settler activity as well as Maori history and the endless stories that abound here, especially from the rich variety of vegetation, birds and aquatic life.
